Fun Finds: Sugru! {Giveaway}

Sometimes I discover a product that gets me so excited. It is not very often you find something with unlimited possibilities. A product that can fix pretty much anything, that you can create new things with, and improve how other things work. I have been playing around with Sugru for a couple of weeks and I love it! It is one of those things that once you have it, you think of a million uses for it.

This post is sponsored by Sugru but all ideas and opinions are 100% my own.

What is Sugru?

It is the world’s first mouldable glue. Once it gets exposed to air, it cures in 24 hours into a flexible rubber. It is completely waterproof and long lasting which means it can be used outdoors as well.

Sugru Hooks

In my secret garden, there is some ivy growing near the fence. I tried to tie it to the fence last year with string until it could get more established but it didn’t really work well. I mixed some of the white with  black Original Formula to create a gray color that matched the fence.

I made small hooks and added them to the fence. Once the 24 hour cure time had passed, I was able to add the ivy vines. When Sugru dries, it is still flexible, so it was easy to bend them a bit to get the vine securely in the hook.

It looks so much cleaner! It no longer is piling up on the ground.

Sugru Customizes Keys

I added the Family Safe, Skin Friendly Sugru to the top portion of some keys.

I also used metal stamps to label them but you could skip that step and just keep them color coded.

Sugru Creates New Knobs

Our bathroom light was missing a little knob that holds the light onto the plate. I was using a hex nut in its place but since it was silver, it stuck out like a sore thumb. I added some black Sugru over the hex screw and you can’t even tell the difference between the original knob and the Sugru knob.

Our fan in the living room lost its knob and in order to turn it on and off and change the speed, we had to use pliers. I added some Sugru to the little green thing sticking out where the old knob was and it is as good as new!

Sugru Makes Phone Holder

When I bought my rowing machine, there was an option to buy a more expensive model that had a little thing on it that would hold your phone or tablet so you could watch shows while exercising. I’m too cheap to pay $50 more for such a small feature.

I was able to mold and add a little holder that perfectly fits my phone!

Sugru Adds Decoration

I added some white Sugru to some pots to customize them and make them a bit more fun! It is also helpful to add feet to pots for better drainage.

Sugru Fixes Tripod

I was able to fix the foot on my tripod that has been broken for years. I have tried using tape in the past but it always falls off or get bunched up.

Good as new and it just looks like the rubber ring so it blends in well.

Sugru & Shoes

My son has a favorite pair of shoes. He wears them when hiking, fishing, and doing jobs around the yard. He likes them because they are well worn and comfortable. When the shoe separated from the sole, he was upset. Even though I threw them away, he sneaked them back out and continued to wear them. I decided to see if I could fix them with some Sugru. It worked! And because the sole was black, you can barely tell!

Sugru Fixes Small Appliances

Don’t you hate it when one rubber “foot” comes off and gets lost? Then it wobbles for the rest of its life. So annoying!

I added some to the bottoms of my appliances that had them missing and now they are level and stable :)

I hope these few examples have sparked some ideas of how you could use this in your own home. For more great project ideas sign up to the Sugru newsletter and get a 10% discount!
