General Tsos Chicken in an Air Fryer makes a quick dinner that is great when on a diet and is so much better than take out and faster especially if you live 20 minutes from the closest Chinese restaurant like us.
This is a perfectly crispy coated chicken tossed in a tasty spicy sauce. Serve over rice or cauliflower rice.

TIPS:
- Use Chicken Breast to save Calories over Chicken Thighs. Cooking in the Air Fryer keeps chicken juicy
- Use Cooking Spray to brown the Chicken
- To add a crisp make sure to add plenty of cornstarch in your house
- Use Cauliflower rice to cut additional calories
- Measure the sauce ingredients while the chicken is in the air fryer. This really eliminates stress.
Air Fryer General Tsos Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Pound Chicken Breast
Marinade
- 2 Egg Whites
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Sesame Oil
Coating
- 3/4 Cup Cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper can use black pepper
- Olive Oil Spray
Broccoli
- 2 Cups Broccoli
- 2 teaspoon salt
Sauce
- 1 Cup Chicken Stock
- 2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
- 2 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoon Chinese rice wine (sake) or dry sherry
- 3 Tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
- 3 teaspoon Hoisin Sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 Tablespoon Sugar
- 3 teaspoon cornstarch
Cooking Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 2 teaspoon Ginger
- 6 Dried red chilies
Instructions

Cut Chicken Breast into bite size pieces

Mix together Merinade egg whites, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil

Pour Merinade over chicken. Stir merinade and chicken

Mix together cornstarch, salt, white pepper and baking powder

Toss Chicken pieces into cornstarch coating mixture

Set Chicen aside for at least 10 minutes
Air Fry Chicken
-
Spray Air Fryer with cooking spray (We used Olive Oil spray)

Place a layer of the marinaded chicken in Air Fryer

Cook Chicken in Air Fryer at 375 for 8 minutes

Toss and Cook for Additional 6 minutes at 375
Broccoli
-
While Air Frying Chicken prepare the Broccoli

Cut 2 Cups of Broccoli into bite size pieces

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil
-
Add 1 teaspoon Salt to water

Add the Brocolli. Blanch for one minute. The broccolli will be bright green
Sauce
-
Mix togeter all ingredents (chicken stock, rice vinegar, rice wine, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil, sugar and cornstarch)

Heat oil

Add Garlic, Ginger and red dried peppers to oil. Cook until they soften. 2 3 minutes

Add the sauce to the pan with the garlic and ginger,bring to a boil. The sauce will thicken. NOTE add additional cornstarch if the sauce is not thick enough. Add 1/2 teaspoon at a time. Mix the cornstarch with a teaspoon of water to make sure it will not clump)

When the sauce has thicken about 4 minutes stir in the chicken and broccoli
