Since the pandemic ended, the L.A. landscape has begun booming with new wellness-oriented concepts across the city. From Melrose to Abbot Kinney, our favorite shopping districts all have a distinctly wellnessy look and feel to them now and it's been amazing to watch.
We're constantly playing keep up with the openings and launches, but here are five of the most recent that we think are worth checking out this summer and beyond...
5 New Openings In L.A. To Try Now
PLANTA Cocina | (Shown above) PLANTA Cocina is the first of three PLANTA restaurants slated to open in Los Angeles this year and it's a stunner. With Pan-Latin inspired dishes like croquetas, tostadas, and tacos, plus sushi rolls, udon noodles and signature dishes like bang bang broccoli, there is something for everyone inside this beautifully designed vegan hotspot. It's about time the beloved plant-based restaurant group entered the LA market -- with locations from Toronto to Atlanta, we're happy to have wellness exported TO us, for once!
Kismet Rotisserie | Everyone loves Kismet, and now the Mediterranean hot spot is expanding through a high-low, current-nostalgic Rotisserie concept! The chicken-centric menu is decidedly veggie-forward and designed for solo diners and family dinners alike. The 2nd location of Kismet Rotisserie opened in Studio City at The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge May 31 and co-founders, Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson plan to open a third location in Culver City later in the year.
Order the rotisserie chicken “party pack” with their signature garlic sauce and chili oil, with hummus, wedge salad, pickles and pita.
Brightside Yoga | From the founders of Drybar and Squeeze comes a brand new wellness studio concept called Brightside. The new studio space in Culver City offers both sauna suites and a hot yoga studio. The studio experience is truly unique, supercharged with infrared heat and colored lightscapes to create a healing, emotionally engaging experience. There are 4 signature classes rooted in vinyasa yoga and set to thoughtfully curated playlists. The private Sauna Suites are equipped with mood-mending chromotherapy lights and the option to listen to your favorite music, podcasts, or guided meditation session right from your own phone.
Open Venice | Open's new studio in Venice brings to life the mindfulness app's breathwork, meditation, and movement IRL. Mixing the best of light, sound, and space, Open’s new state-of-the-art mindfulness studio was designed bespoke in partnership with internationally recognized, award-winning architecture studio leong leong and climate leader and award-winning architect David Hertz. Together they’ve created a technologically-powered, mindfulness studio they hope will revolutionize LA's approach to wellness.
Dante at The Maybourne | Beloved restaurant & aperitivo bar Dante (#1 Best Bar in North America, 2019 & 2020) opens its first location outside of NYC this month at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. The hotel’s recently-renovated rooftop will open for lunch and dinner with Dante’s signature, aperitivo-style cocktails and an Italian and Mediterranean-inspired menu centered around a wood-fired oven. Go for the celery juice paloma -- stay for the decor that'll transport you to Italy without the drive to LAX.
